Since last week I discussed “Goal Setting”, this week I’m discussing something that should be at the top of everyone’s weekly goals: making time for yourself Which also goes into plays into a previous topic I discussed: Self-love.
When is the last time you just chilled in your room doing nothing? Treated yourself to a mani and pedi? Took yourself out on a date? Or even just sit down at your desk reading a book and drinking a glass of wine? If you don’t know the answers to these questions then most likely you need to take a “Me Day”.
Sometimes we get wrapped up in the life we think we’re supposed to be living that we don’t take a second and breathe. Everyone needs that moment where we should be able to breathe.
And for my college students, sometimes we take on too many responsibilities and forget that we are humans, we need breaks!
Do not let anyone lead you to think that taking time for yourself is selfish either because it’s not…what’s selfish is not taking time for yourself, in my opinion.
Every week you should just really sit back and think “Have I given myself the proper me time this week?”, and if your answer is no? Then I need you to take that time for yourself, even if it’s just 5 minutes.
I challenge everyone at the beginning of each week to have a designated “Me Day” to restore your brain, relax your muscles, and get your thoughts together.
