If You’re A Reader …


When you want to learn new things, such as cooking, or struggling to figure something out what do most people do? Read a book! Not everyone reads a book, some just search online, but if you’re that person still tapped into the good old days before there was the internet (or just prefer to read) this blog post is for you!

I know reading a book about personal growth is iffy being that everyone has a different outlook on life, however, I’m going to suggest a couple of books that you should read.

These books not only help with personal growth but also looking at life in a different way and accepting your flaws

  1. Love Yourself: Mia Conrad:  This particular book was written in hopes of helping someone love themselves more and overcoming insecurities. I personally read this book and it gave great advice. The author also acknowledges the need for building relationships.
  2. 412 Journaling Exercises for and Prompts for Self-Growth by Meredith Lane:  This book gives the reader the essential tools to make their journaling practice simple and effective by offering prompts and exercises intended to guide them towards a deeper examination of themselves, an attempt that is sure to lead to personal growth, self-knowledge, and self-acceptance.
  3.  HER & HER Vol. 2 by Pierre Alex Jeanty: Okay so these two books are NOT personal growth books however, these are the best books I’ve read in a long time! They’re not your ordinary books with a storyline or anything, they’re poem books. I guarantee you that after reading just one of these you’re going to want better for yourself. Your outlook on relationships (not just romantic) will be different. Both books are a collection of poetry and prose about women (their strengths and beauty). So sorry men, but these books for my ladies! But it wouldn’t hurt you read.
  4. One Day My Soul Just Opened Up by Iyanla Vanzant: This book is geared towards spiritual strength and personal growth.  I haven’t read this book before but I know people who have and they recommended this book to be on this list! My friend enlightened me that it helped with her healing and transformation into a better person. In this book are daily meditations covering topics like self-love, truth, peacefulness, and trust!!

So those are my four (well technically five since number three has two books) must-read books for personal growth! I hope you all take the time to read at least one of these books! If you do just let me know how you liked them (or didn’t like them!).
